The buses run a script. This does not.
Before your tour I send you a short questionnaire — how much walking works for you, what you eat, what you’re into, whether there’s something worth celebrating. That’s what I build the day from.
The rest comes from the road. Hana weather turns hourly, sections close, and the stop that was perfect last Tuesday is a mud pit today. Knowing which ones still work, and which to skip, is most of my job.
Take the banana bread. Most tours queue fifty deep at the famous stand. I stop at Halfway to Hana instead — same recipe, oldest one on the road, and you get the time back for something better.
And the whole day gets captured. Photos and an edited video come to you after, because a phone in your hand is a day you only half-watched.
When I’m booked out I bring in a guide I trust rather than turn a group away. Same route, same questionnaire, same photos — I would not put you with someone I would not send my own family out with.
